Phase One...
Transform the Closet

Sort closet contents into boxes labeled
"KEEP," "DONATE," and "DISCARD."
2.
Remove existing shelving and patch holes in plaster.
3.
Paint the empty closet.
[You knew I would!]
4.
Install appropriate shelving.
5.
Reload the closet.
THESE ARE THE PLANS FOR PHASE ONE.
IT WAS MY INTENTION TO START TODAY. THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN.
BUT NOT BECAUSE I CAVED IN TO FEAR. NOR DID I PROCRASTINATE.
LIL DRAGON IS SICK AND I SPENT THE ENTIRE DAY TAKING CARE OF HER.

I need help...

"Do what?" you ask. Transform the back room into a studio. That's what I need to do. And to do it, I need moral support. And accountability.
So, starting tomorrow, I'm going to take a picture a day of the back room and post it in this space. It is my hope and prayer that all of you will nudge me into action with your love and comments. Please be my "bridge over troubled water." I desperately need one.

The witch is in...
Thank you, Mamao4!
When I told Mamao4 that all I needed to complete my Halloween theme this year was a sign saying "The Witch is In", she said she had one I could use. She even delivered it personally to the castle.

It looks great bungee corded to the wreath on my door.
I love flipping to the side that let's people know that the witch is out when I leave the castle and then back again when I return.
Bubba thinks I'm having entirely too much fun.

Works like a charm and it's economical, too...

While wiping up the kitchen today, I ran out of my favorite cleaner... pink grapefruit scented method all purpose surface cleaner.
Bummer! I love that stuff. It works great and is gentle on the environment. Since I didn't feel like making a run to Target to get more, I decided to try a homemade cleaner recipe that I found online and was saving in case I felt like experimenting.
I removed the label and recycled the empty method container for this recipe, but any empty spray bottle you have around would work. Also, I added a drop of red food color to imitate the pink grapefruit method color and several drops of lemongrass essential oil to give it some pizazz. Then I tried it out. Fantastic... we have a winner!

I had no idea...

(November 28, 1820 – August 5, 1895)
Engels was a German social scientist and philosopher, who developed communist theory alongside his better-known collaborator, Karl Marx, co-authoring The Communist Manifesto (1848). Engels also edited the second and third volumes of Das Kapital after Marx's death.
AN OUNCE OF ACTION IS WORTH A TON OF THEORY.
Yesterday, while reading Finding Water by Julia Cameron, I was struck by this quote and wanted to know more about its author. All this time I thought that Karl Marx was a solo act, in his writings at least if not in his ideals. Isn't it interesting how history is written. Or not, as the case may be. Until stumbling upon his words, I'd never even heard of Friedrich Engels... who knew!
